Resolution No.(43): "Ruling on the Amendments of the Islamic International Arab Bank`s Articles of Association and Statute Regualtions"

Date: 25/7/1420 AH, corresponding to 13/11/1999

We have received the following question:

Do the certificate of incorporation and the statute of the Islamic International Arab bank comply with the rulings of Islamic Sharia?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

Answer: The Board has decided to approve the amendments indicated in the above letter, and which comply with the rulings of Islamic Sharia, provided that paragraph (D) of article (28) is rewritten to read as follows:

Paragraph (D) The other precautions:

Any percentage of the profits based on the suggestion of the administrative board and the approval of the general authority in favor of any other precautions, regardless of their name or purpose, in the best interest of the company and its course of business, provided that this deduction is made after that of the income tax. Summarized Fatawaa

I suffer from chronic asthma which requires ventoline inhale; which is an air causes the risperatory track/airways to expand. Am I permited to use it during the daylight of Ramadan? And does break one's fast? Noting that I can't go an entire day without using it?

Taking inhaler through the mouth or the nose breaks one's fast, because it is meant to reach the lungs which are part of the coelom. Therefore, whosoever use inhalers for couple of days is obliged to preserve his fasting and make up that day later. As for the ones the ones who need to use it every days are obliged to preserve his fast and feed a poor per day and the cost of feeding one poor is estimated (60) piasters for the year (1421AH). And Allah Knows Best.  

Is it permissible for a financially capable woman to pay the Zakat to her sons or one of them?

It is permissible for a mother to give her children from zakat if they are eligible to receive it, even though she is obligated to provide for them. This is based on the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarding Zainab, the wife of Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them): "Your husband and your children are more deserving of your charity" [Al-Bukhari]. Does passing wind, from the anus without a smell, invalidate prayer?

If a person is certain of having passed wind even if it was with no smell, then both his/her ablution and prayer are invalidated, thus he/she should remake ablution and re-perform prayer.

Do the Jinn have anything to do with the disappearance of objects?

Jinn are one of Allah creatures, and whosoever lost anything should look for it and never accuse niether the Jinn nor humans of stealing it. And Allah Knows Best.
