A Statement Regarding the Attack on a Mosque in Egypt

 

Allah the Almighty says {What means}: "……. whoever slays a soul for other than a soul, or for corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether; and whoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind." {al-Ma`idah, 32}.

 

The General Iftaa` Department in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan strongly condemns the cowardly terrorist incident in which safe worshipers were attacked in a mosque in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Department confirms that this cowardly act goes against all religious and human values and isn`t accepted by sound mind or human instinct. This is since killing is one of the greatest crimes in the sight of Allah the Almighty and one of the abominations that Islam warned against.

 

While warning against this misguided and deviant thought that does not respect ties of kinship or of covenant, the Department extends its deepest condolences to our brothers in Egypt. It asks Allah to accept their martyrs and wishes a speedy recovery to their wounded. It also prays that Allah bless Egypt and the rest of the world with safety and security.

What is the ruling when the monthly period when exceeding (15) days?

The maximum duration of menstruation is 15 days. If it exceeds this, it is considered irregular bleeding (Istihada). In this case, one must perform ghusl (Ritual bath) after menstruation, pray, and make wudu for each prayer after its time begins. She should return to her previous menstrual habit regarding duration and timing. For example, if her period used to be from the 20th to the 27th of each month, this is considered her menstruation period. Anything before or after this is Istihada, during which she only leaves prayer and fasting for the habitual menstrual days, then performs ghusl and resumes praying.

Talking to one's fiancée in Ramadan with romantic talk may lead to arousal, and if pre-ejaculate fluid (Madhy) is discharged as a result, it does not break the fast. However, it is advised to avoid actions that provoke desire and lead to this outcome. If semen (Mani) is discharged as a result, it does break the fast.
 
 
 
 
 

 

 

 

The discharge of Madhy doesn't invalidate one's fasting but it invalidates the ablution and his clothes must be washed because they are impure in this case. As for Mani, it breaks one's fast and making up invalidataed  is obligatory, beside; a Muslim suitor should abstain from these matters during Ramadan and not to degrade the holy month to this extent. Islam has honored women by being proposed to by men, and not the other way around, so it is inappropriate for a woman to propose to a man since one who hastens in asking for a thing prematurely shall be punished by deprivation. In fact, such a phenomenon is the result of unlawful mixing between the two sexes.
