Statement over the Events at Al-Aqsa Mosque

In the Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions:

The Iftaa` Department of Jordan condemns with the strongest of terms closing Al-Aqsa mosque, violating religious symbols, banning Muslims from performing Friday prayer in the Noble Sanctuary, and not allowing them to enter it. The Dept. reiterates that these provocations constitute a flagrant violation of Islamic sanctities and freedom of religion, heart the feelings of Muslims worldwide, and violate human rights as well as international human rights law.

We call upon the international community and the Islamic states in particular to shoulder their responsibilities by ending these barbaric acts. Indeed, it is the duty of every Muslim to defend Al-Aqsa mosque from different dangers and violations. Under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah the second, Jordan has dedicated all its resources for the restoration and protection of Al-Aqsa mosque. In fact, this emanates from the historical and spiritual responsibility of the Hashemite family whose ancestry traces back to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). We pray that Allah safeguards Al-Aqsa mosque and favors Muslims with taking it back. And all perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds.

In the school of Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him), washing the arms (hands) is achieved by washing the arms completely, from the fingertips to the elbows. Washing only the palms at the beginning is insufficient, as washing them at the beginning is a Sunnah, but after washing the face, it becomes obligatory (fard). The person performing ablution must wash his palms along with the arms after washing the face. If he does not wash his palms, his ablution is invalid and not correct. It is permissible for the father to stop his daughter from getting married if there was a lawful reason for that, and she isn`t allowed to conclude the marriage contract without her guardian. However, if her father denied her right in getting married for an unlawful reason, then she should go to court.

What is the ruling on a woman who gets her menstrual period while fasting?

If a woman gets her menstrual period while fasting, her fast (of that day) becomes invalid, and she must make up for the missed days after Ramadan. Allah has granted ease to women in this situation, and she will be rewarded for not fasting because she is following Allah’s command.

How should I deal with the whispers of the devil with regard to ablution and purity?

Whispers in ablution are from the devil, and so you should take refuge in Allah from the devil`s evil suggestions that aim to distort the religion. Thus, once an organ is completely pure, don`t question its purity since having whispers doesn`t mean that the purity is invalid as it has already been established.
