A Statement on the 10th Anniversary of Amman Bombings

 

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

At this time of every year, Jordanians mark the anniversary of the bombings that ripped through three hotels in Amman on Nov.9th, 2005, killing and wounding many innocent civilians. This series of coordinated bomb attacks was conducted by a terrorist group that harbors radical ideologies.

 

The General Iftaa` Department prays that Allah bestows His mercy on the martyrs, admits them into Heaven, and empowers their families with patience and solace. The Department calls upon Jordanians to be united and persistent against terrorist and extremist ideologies which don`t represent the tolerant values of Islam, and are weird to our society.

 

Moreover, the Department calls upon Jordanians to support the ceaseless efforts of the armed forces and the security departments in fighting terrorist groups in order to preserve our unity, security, and stability.

 

The Department prays that Allah The Almighty keeps Jordan peaceful and secure under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah the second, and wishes the same for all Muslim countries. And All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of Worlds.

Is it permissible for a woman to inherit the same share as of a man?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all if his family and companions.                                                                                                                                                                                                 Thorough studies in which woman's right to inherit according to law of distribution of estate indicates that there are more than one case by which women inherit the same as man and sometimes much more, or to shed the lights regarding the right to inherit while men who share the same family line with her don't have the right to inherit because the deceased has closer ties of kinship with her. In addition to four cases whereas woman inherits half share in comparison with man's share although they had the same degree of kinship with the deceased. How to pay Zakah (obligatory charity) due on articles of merchandise?

Articles of merchandise are estimated by their whole sale market price at the end of each lunar year, and (2.5%) of their value is paid as Zakah whether it (value) went up, or down compared to actual purchasing price, and whether the increase (profit) was in the article itself such as an increase in the animal`s weight, or in the prices themselves. And Allah Knows Best.

If a woman makes a vow to slaughter a sheep, and her husband is the one who buys it for her from his own money, and he says: "It is for you until you fulfill your vow with it," Is this permissible, or must she buy it herself from her own money?

If her husband gave her the sheep as a donation for the puprose of fulfilling the oath she made and was slaughtered by the wife or the husband on her behalf then the vow she made is fulfilled. And Allah Knows Best. 

How many pieces of cloth are used to enshroud a deceased man, and a deceased woman?

A deceased woman is enshrouded in five pieces of cloth: head cover, wrapper, shirt , and two folds of cloth. On the other hand, a deceased man is enshrouded with three pieces of cloth.
