Subject : It is Permissible to Pay Zakah on Wealth to Jordan Zakah Fund

Question :

Is it permissible to pay one`s Zakah on wealth through transferring it to the Jordan Zakah Fund within the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs?


The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

 

It is permissible to authorize a person or an institution to deliver the funds of Zakah (Obligatory charity) and voluntary charities to the eight eligible recipients prescribed in the noble Quran. In fact, paying one`s Zakah on wealth to the Jordan Zakah Fund is authorizing this Fund to deliver the Zakah to eligible recipients. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
