Question :

What is the ruling if the pilgrim couldn`t spend the night in Mina during the Days of Tashreeq?

The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May Allah`s peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

Spending the night in Mina during the days of Tashreeq is an obligation upon every pilgrim. However, spending the night doesn`t mean sleeping there; rather, staying most hours of the night, but he/she may leave and return the next night. Actually, this is what most pilgrims do due to overcrowding. However, if a pilgrim fails to spend the night in Mina during the days of Tashreeq, then he/she is required to slaughter a sacrificial animal. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
