Resolution No.(85): “Ruling on Exemption from the Rent of an Endowed Estate“

Resolution No.(85) by the Board of Iftaa`, Research and Islamic Studies:

“Ruling on Exemption from the Rent of an Endowed Estate“

Date: 26/2/1426 AH, corresponding to 6/4/2005 AD.

 

 

 

 

Question:

What is the ruling of Sharia on the request submitted by the Committee of Mosques and Charitable Projects in which it seeks to be exempted from the rent due on the basement of Abulkasim`s Mosque, which it uses as a rehabilitation centre for the Jordanian young women?

Answer: All success is due to Allah.

The Board is of the view that it is impermissible to exempt the above committee from the rent on permanent basis, and it should be recorded annually so as to ascertain the continuity of the endowed estate. However, it is permissible for the Endowments Council, later on, to relieve that committee from the whole rent or part of it since the committee is using that estate for charitable causes which agrees with the vision and message of the Ministry of Endowments. During a flight from Amman to the UAE, while we were flying over Saudi Arabia, the captain announced that it was time to break our fast, coinciding with the exact time of sunset. After I had broken my fast with my first date, the captain apologized for the earlier announcement and clarified that the correct time would be in 20 minutes. Am I required to continue fasting on that day?

Whosoever break his fast at teh very first announcement to make up the missed day of Ramadan, since Allah, The Most Exalted, Said (What means): "then complete your fast Till the night appears" [Al-Baqara/187]. And Allah Knows Best.

In the last verse of Surah At-Tin, Allah Says (What means): "Is Allah not the most just of judges?" [At-Tin/8]. Is it permissible for us, while performing congregational prayer, to respond after the Imam recites it by saying: "Indeed, and I am among those who bear witness to that." ?

It is recommended for the worshipper to say 'Indeed' (Bala) silently after reciting or hearing the verse (/What means): "Is Allah not the most just of judges?" [At-Tin/8]. This is part of reflecting on the Quran during its recitation or listening, as Allah Says (What means): "Then do they not reflect upon the Quran, or are there locks upon [their] hearts?" (Muhammad: 24). Doing so helps in achieving humility and focus in prayer. And Allah Knows Best

Does the time of Fajr (dawn) prayer start after the first Athaan (call for prayer), or the second one?

Am I permitted to perform more than a prayer within single ablution?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His Peace and Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions.

You are permitted to pray as many as you could within one ablution and to recite Quran so long as your ablution isn't nullified. And Allah Knows Best.
