Is it permissible to give Zakat al-Fitr as meat (beef or chicken)?  If permissible, what is the specific amount?

A person entrusted me with delivering Zakaat Al-Fitr to some people whom I know, and since I can`t meet them before Eid, I told them that I had the money with me. Is it permissible for me to delay giving them the money until after Eid ?

I have paid a certain amount of money to a charity as an oath expiation, then added another amount to it without making any intention. After that, I intended that additional amount as Zakat-ul-Fitr. Is it permissible that I change my intention although the charity isn`t aware that I intended the additional amount as Zakat-ul-Fitr?
